Ecol - About us

Ecol began operations on December 12, 1991 during the restructuring of "Rybnik" Electric Power Plant as a firm
co-owned by "Rybnik" Electric Power Plant, The Ecological Foundation "Ekoterm Siliesia" as well as eight workers from the oil department of "Rybnik" Power Plant.

At the beginning of March 1992 the company was registered in the Regional Court of Gliwice. At the time, the company's working capital amounted to 20,000 PLN and employed 16 people.

In 1993 Ecol developed a relationship with both Gdansk Oil Refinery (currently named Grupa Lotos S.A.) as well as The Central Oil Laboratory. This cooperation led to Gdansk Refinery producing
turbine oil (Remiz TU, and also oils for hydrokinetic clutches (Corvus), drives/gears and other industrial mechanisms.

Thanks to this cooperation the reputation of Ecol´s products and services spread to other refineries, leading to further contracts. Currently, oil turbine (Tu as well as TG) introduced by Ecol to the Polish energy industry are working in approximately 90% of Poland Electro power plants and heat and power generating plants.

Parallel to its trading activities, Ecol has managed to widen its offer in the area of specialist services for the energy and industrial sectors. Here our dynamic development is to be put down to our hydrodynamic cleaning and oil system rinsing services. Currently, we are also enjoying success with the hydrodynamic cleaning and flushing of lubrication sytems and automatic hydrodynamic cleaning of rotary air/gas preheaters.

Currently Ecol employs 80 people, and its net capital is valued at 4.6 mln PLN.

Aside from our cooperation with the Lotos group and the Central Oil Laboratory of Warsaw, we are also working with Silesian University of Technology and other research institutes.
We are proud of our financial support for hospitals, schools, the Professor Religa Foundation, the Gliwice Institute of Oncology, as well as other organisations requiring patronage.

We are confident that our years of experience, coupled with our plans for future development will assure the continued success of Ecol on the Polish and European market.
